Make up
Recently, I've been getting really into my skincare. I don't have flawless skin but it is in reasonably good condition.Very rarely do I wear foundation or eye make-up. All I do is have a shower, moisturise my face and BAM I'm good to go!
However, I'm really looking into different types of make-up that I could start to wear and other skincare regimes that I could follow in order to keep my skin in the condition its in now and make it even better if possible! I mean, whats the point in trying to make your skin look better if you're just going to plaster it the next day?
Anyway! I've made a foundation purchase. It's from The Body Shop and is called Extra Virgin Minerals Loose Powder Foundation. I use it only when I go on nights out or have an occassion to wear it out. (to be fair, I am considering making it an everyday thing but I'm scared it'll block my pores and I'll break out in spots.) I absolutely love it! I don't have a lot to compare it to, but I do know that it is really light when put onto my skin. I forget I even have it on. There's a matt finish to it once put it on as there is no glitter added, making my face look pretty without the sparkle. When I open the tub, some foundation does fly out of it but it doesn't bother me much but does sometimes result in unwanted wastage. This foundation does cover up any redness and fine lines on your face, but is doesn't fully cover up any blemishes and breakouts you have so you would need to use concealer on that. This is perfect for natural. everyday wear and I haven't found any faults with it except for when the dust comes out, but that's pretty minor!
With this foundation, I bought the Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Powder Foundation brush which is perfect. It's extremely soft against my skin and the foundation comes on straight away. It's something I would definitely recommend to purchase, especially with the foundation itself. The hair doesn't fall out and the bristles don't end up on your face either. It also comes with a little pouch that you can put the brush in which stops it from getting ruined quicker than necessary. The only fault I have with this is the fact that it is such a slippery material, the brush sometimes slips out and the pouch opens slightly, but you learn to deal with it (eventually)...
The foundation itself £15.00 which is a bit pricey for a powder foundation, but the results you get from it justify the price. The brush is £16.00, which is definitely (in my opinion) a LOT to pay for a foundation brush but, once again, the results that it produces are amazing. I would consider this foundation an absolute must-by. But make sure you pop in to the Body Shop store itself as they will be able to trial the foundation colours to your skin and you will leave with the ideal colour for yourself! :-)

Note: May I just point out, everything I'm saying is meant in absolutely NO offence to others! I have no problem with people that wear make-up, as long as it's enhancing your features & doesn't make you look completely plastered.

Mascara
So once again, I don't know too much about different make-up products.
This is the mascara I use though. It's the Great Lash mascara by Maybelline. I personally use the brown shade but that's just out of preference. It conditions as you put it on. I do like this as it glides on really smoothly and doesn't feel uncomfortable. I am a contact lense wearer, on occassions, and have sometimes poked my eye with this. It hasn't irritated me at all though, so I am pleased with it. However, on the website it does say that there are 'no clumps' with this brush. They lied. When I put it on (unless I'm doing it wrong?) I always seem to get a clump or two which is pretty annoying. But I use a toothpick/pin/needle to CAREFULLY seperate the lashes. They do end up longer but it's pretty annoying when having to do it. (DO NOT TRY TO SEPERATE YOUR LASHES THAT WAY! It is VERY dangerous!) I'm not 100% sure how much this is but I would recommend it for casual wear if you're a make-up lover on nights out.
This is the mascara.
Eye liner
I don't use a liquid eye liner. I don't actually put any liner on the top lid of my eye. I only put it on the bottom, 'inside' the eye with the Carbon Eye Definer that I got from the Body Shop.
It's the double sided pencil but I never use the smudger. I like this as it's really easy to apply but it' feels quite hard, not soft, which is the only downside. It's £9.00 which I consider a reasonable price. I don't think I would repeat this purchase but it is good enough to last me quite a while as I hardly use it.
Here's the eyeliner online.
FINALLY!
Eye Shadow
Onto the final installment of the make-up I use is the Bourjois eyeshadow. It's amazing. Stays for absolutely ages but is pretty hard to take off. I don't know how much this is but would DEFINITELY recommend it if you like dark shades & shimmer.
And here's the eyeshadow.
Here's the make-up I use & I hope I've inspired you guys to get something! I know it's all pretty bland and standard but I will be buying some more stuff and showing you all! :-)
Lots of love! xxx
