Riga, Latvia











I went to Riga in Latvia over the weekend with eleven other students. It was one of the most amazing trips I've been on in a while. We arrived on Friday evening at around 1800 and almost immediately started getting ready for an evening out in the city. That was also one of the best nights out I have been on for the period I have been on my exchange.

On Saturday, we had the privilege of being shown around by a local, so we saw the obvious touristic places but she also showed us some local markets which I fell in love with. We had lunch in the popular restaurant "Lido" and the food was delightful! However a few people ended up with pretty upset stomachs - not sure if it was the food or the alcohol intake from the night before!

Anyway we then went for a wander around the city, had some cake in a little cafe and then decided to pop into a shopping mall to see if there was anything we liked. The only thing I bought was a pair of shorts - why buy shorts when living in a cold country? I don't know, I love loungewear and these shorts were perfect. We then had dinner & another night out which was nowhere as fun as the first.

On Sunday, we had to make the long trip home. 4 hour coach journey from Riga to Tallinn and then a 2.5 hour ferry ride back to Helsinki. And then the tram back to the station. And the train home.
Long.

Overall the city is BEAUTIFUL and I plan to go back if & whenever I can. I had so much fun and can't wait to do it again! :)

I'll definitely start blogging more now as I have bought my camera back to Finland with me so vlogging & blogging will now be a thing!

Hello 20

On the sixth of January, it was my twentieth birthday, hoorah! I'm not completely sure if I'm okay about that yet but oh well, just another year older - still none the wiser. My Christmas list

So this is going to be a list of things I want for Christmas. I don't want too much but in materialistic terms, it's quite a bit. I want a new pair of Vans - Grey or White ones. I absolutely ADORE Vans and have 2 pairs (black + burgundy) already. They're amazing and go with practically everything. They're comfortable and are an absolute statement piece that I will forever wear. Red by Taylor Swift. Contrast by Conor Maynard. Unapologetic by Rihanna. Evolution of Man by Example. Impossible (single) by James Arthur. Take Me Home by One Direction. An SLR camera - most probably the Canon EOS 650D - but that will be the main family camera. REVIEW: Breaking Dawn Part 2

NOTE: SPOILERS ALERT! I am a Twi-hard. I'm going to admit it from now. I absolutely LOVE Twilight. I've read all the books countless times, watched the movies God knows how many times and I am simply obsessed. The debate between Team Jacob and Team Edward for me is probably the easiest answer I have ever given. For me, it has to be.. Team Edward. No questions asked, I am 100% Team Edward!
